If you’ve got a stairlift that needs a one-off repair we can get parts easily, repair is often possible and cheaper than replacing. The downside is that the process is long winded and you need to meet certain criteria to be eligible.

Not directly but they are the mandatory first step to getting one funded by the local council. A stairlift is considered a major home adaptation and is therefore funded through a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) rather than handed out directly by social care.

No, the NHS does not directly fund or supply stairlifts. But the NHS (or a council OT) can help determine if stairlift is “necessary and appropriate” for your needs, the actual funding comes from your local authority via the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG). In Wales, this means-tested grant provides up to £36,000 to cover the purchase and installation of home adaptations.

The value of a second-hand stairlift typically ranges from £0 to £800, depending on its type, age, and condition. You will generally not recover anything close to the original purchase price. Straight staircases generally have more value as they are more popular and easier to refit
