Cardiff customer keeps coming back – shower, stairlift, then kitchen!
We have enquiries from all kinds of people but it’s common to hear from adults who are looking to support ageing parents to adapt their homes.
It’s not always the person who is going to benefit from the adaptation that does the research and makes the call. Henry was looking to find someone to update his parents’ bathroom with a walk-in shower because getting in and out of the bath was becoming tricky.
After speaking to Henry we visited his parents at their home in Cardiff to look at their house and see how we could help adapt the bathroom.
A quick turnaround on a walk-in shower
We could see that the bathroom had the space to install a walk-in shower without replacing the whole bathroom. Henry’s parents were happy with our suggestion of the Kinemagic walk-in shower, which fitted neatly into the space where the bath stood. We completed the work in two days without needing any alterations to the existing bathroom.
Later that year, Henry got back in touch to ask about fitting a stairlift.
A stairlift for a narrow staircase
Happy with the bathroom adaptation, Henry’s parents decided to ask us to fit a stairlift in the property. Despite the staircase being extremely narrow, we successfully fitted a Flow X stairlift and managed to keep the handrail on one side.
Once the stairlift was fitted, Henry’s parents started to think about how they could improve their kitchen – Henry’s mother was struggling to access the kitchen units.
A brand new fully adapted kitchen
After some careful consideration of planning and design we were asked to install a new, fully accessible kitchen.
We are currently in talks about building an accessible ground floor extension.
