The joystick is situated in the armrest. With a soft-touch grip, the simple joystick is easy to use and doesn’t need much effort or strength to operate. It can be easily used by someone with limited mobility in their hand.

The seatbelt on the stairlift is retractable and is designed to keep you in place as you glide up and down the stairs. There is a sensor that reminds you to fasten the belt before the stairlift moves.  The belt has a stainless steel buckle that’s designed to be fastened using just one hand.

You might want a stairlift rail with an automatically powered hinge. This addition is ideal for people who need to keep the foot of the staircase clear. Perhaps you need the space in your hall clear for wheelchair or buggy access. With a hinged stairlift rail the lower section of the rail automatically folds away once the stairlift has moved upstairs. If you don’t need a hinged rail,  we can look at a Flow X option with a rail that starts 175mm from the first step.

The HomeGlide stairlift range works for almost all straight staircases. It can be fitted in spaces as narrow as 740mm (29”). This is perfect for the small staircases of terrace houses so popular across the Welsh valleys. For an even narrower staircase we can offer the Flow X straight lift, which can go as narrow as 640mm.

The HomeGlide Extra package includes a powered swivel seat. This feature means the chair automatically swivels round when you reach the top landing and apply pressure on the joystick controller. This gives an easy and safe exit from the chair.
