Banishing the bath for a walk-in shower in Newport
This Newport customer contacted us wondering if we could swap his bath for a walk-in shower but keep the rest of the bathroom in one piece.
This is a job we’ve done countless times before with excellent results. This time was a little different. The stakes were high. This customer was a retired trading standards officer!
Replacing a bath for a walk-in shower is a top bathroom adaptation. It’s a quick and cost effective way to make washing safer when a customer is starting to feel like getting in and out of the bath is a hassle.
Taking out a bath to replace with a walk-in shower
We visited the customer to measure up and worked out that a Kinedo Kinemagic Serenity with a glass sliding shower pod, would fit perfectly in the footprint of the existing bath, leaving space for the existing pipework.
Extra adaptations to make washing easier
The Kinedo shower cubicle is specifically made with grab rails and a shower seat. This means once you’re in the shower you don’t have to stand up to wash and the grab rail helps you to get in and out.
Keeping the rest of the bathroom in one piece
We are proud of our ability to complete work in a bathroom without doing a full bathroom replacement. Lots of people don’t realise that this is possible. You don’t need to change your whole bathroom suite to make the bathroom work for someone with mobility challenges. On this occasion, as well as removing the bath the customer wanted us to remove the old flooring. ·We did this and also put him in touch with a local reputable floor fitting firm, to help him with the next job he wanted to do.

This is a straightforward job. The work we did for this customer took a few days. There was a slight delay on getting hold of the cubicle from the manufacturer as it was out of stock but we made sure to keep the customer informed, which he appreciated.
